Every now and then I get to do some pretty cool things.  Last week Saturday was one of those events.  Go to their website to find out more:

“The mission of The Pablove Foundation is to fund pediatric cancer research and advances in treatment, educate and empower cancer families, and improve the quality of life for children living with cancer through hospital play, music and arts programs.

The Pablove Foundation is named after Pablo Thrailkill Castelaz, the son of Jo Ann Thrailkill and Jeff Castelaz and the little brother of Grady Gallagher. Pablo was six years old when he lost his valiant yearlong battle with bilateral Wilms Tumor, a rare form of childhood cancer. Imbued with his spirit and inspired by his strength, Pablove is dedicated to the daily, global fight against childhood cancer and the suffering that comes in its wake.

We fight on in order to amplify one simple message: kids get cancer too.

Your support of The Pablove Foundation helps us help kids with cancer.”

A light came on above my head …

Seriously.

I have spent most of the day updating my brochures.  Anyone that knows me has just dialed 911 to send emergency services to talk me down off the ledge.  I can work some magic in Photoshop but when it comes to creating Word documents and then PDF files – well .. it’s just not good.  I think there may be some vegan chocolate chip cookies being eaten for dinner tonight.  But I digress.

The moment I loaded the new Wedding Brochure the light above my head that has been flickering for the past two days – fired up to full power.  So I’m taking that as a sign that maybe what I did today is a good thing.  Yes Martha (Stewart) – even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.  New Year – New Brochures – New Faces to meet and photograph.  I can’t wait!!

Take a look and let me know what you think.  I will check out your comments in the morning ’cause I really need those cookies.  🙂

Sweeney Photography has been busy

Wonder what we’ve been up to lately?  You mean other than moving the studio to a brand new location?  Here’s a few of the faces we’ve had the pleasure of photographing.

There are still a few appointments available during the holidays.  Anyone optimistic enough to schedule their appointment on 12/22/12 will get a free 8×10 added to their portrait package.  🙂

New Digital File Add-On for Children’s Portrait Packages!

The digital image file offer is already a hit with parents!

I’ve been thinking about this offer for quite some time.  It’s a hot button issue among professional photographers.  Do I offer the digital files or not?  Honestly, there are many reasons not to offer the files – print quality control, loss of copyright control – even loss of income.  My biggest issues were image integrity and print quality.  I never wanted to see a photograph I created show up on Facebook after it’s been altered in a way that makes me unhappy to have it linked to my name.  Every portrait I take has a bit of my heart embedded in it and I always thought it should be my “vision” that people see – period.  Then I started to think about all the fabulous portraits people were not seeing.  And that made me sad.  Why should I prevent a parent from sharing these beautiful memories and moments just because I was afraid they would be altered?  (Quite frankly, I don’t think they will be altered because they are awesome from the beginning!)  But if they are – then that’s just fine too.  How fun to see someone else interpret what I’ve captured.  And the best part – now they can be enjoyed by all!!

So .. I would like to share the new offer with all of you today.  The sessions are still the same and a separate fee from the packages.  Now with all Children’s print orders of $70 or more – you can add on all the proofed digital image files for …

$100.00

*Offer INCLUDES the RETOUCHED image files from your print order!*

I’ve been offering this “Add To Package” for the last 24 hours in the studio.  So far it’s been a HUGE hit!!  Thank you to all my families for their input!!  This is going to be awesome!!
